The sweet 20 years of journey actually started before 24 years before when our Senior Pastor Soundrapandian was working as an engineer in an Italin Company. When the call of the Lord came upon his life he accepted and surrended himself to it in the year 1992. After assuring the definite call from the Lord he resigned the job. As the Lord revealed clearly he went to the city of Banglore to take up his study for ministry at SABC Bible Collage on 3rd June 1992. Only with the help of this master whom he served, with the family and amongst all trials and tribulations he completed his 4 years of bible course.
In the year 1996 Pastor along with his wife Mrs. Daisy Soundrapandian was graduated from the same collage. The same year obeying the call of the Lord they landed in an unfamiliar place - Coimbatore by travelling all night in a open van with his wife and two small children and reached Coimbatore on May 28th. Their humble beginning started in a tiled house with 4 members and a bicycle. Beginning a ministry being alone was not a easy task but Senior Pastor with his wife and children went around the streets of Ganapathy in the bicycle fasting and praying earnestly to God to give them souls and a place to worship.
God opened the way by answering the prayers and first gave a small room with a rent of Rs. 300 in Kattaboman Street. The church started to grow among many difficulties with an increase in the number of believers. In 1997 June in KRG Nagar God gave to spacious place to worship. Though the same place had a septic tank and was an entrance to a toilet , God gave an increase in the number of believers that the number of worship service had to be increased by 2. That was the place were God helped us to start the Choir Team and Care Cells. With the grace of God we began a new Church at Thadagam in 2000
In 2002 the Lord helped us to start a branch Church at Thudiyalur. As the church was growing people around started giving many troubles. So Pastor along with the church members fasted and prayed to own a land for the church building. Graciously God gave a land with 5200 sq.ft near Sakthy Main Road. When we purchased this land our vision and dream was fulfilled, by a lot of prayers put in for this purpose for many days. From the 4th day of purchasing the land our hands were empty but we planned to construct a small building to worship. On the 12th day all the believers of our church started working feverishly day and night and completed it by the grace of God. Rev. Pastor Y.Jeyaraj came and dedicated the church. After a few years that small building was filled with souls and the place was not sufficient to worship because of it there was a need to increase the number of church service. In the same way God started giving visions for this beautiful church.
The work of constructing a building for the church started with a very few thousand rupee notes in hand but the Lord helped to complete the work of constructing it and he has made it to stand as a beautiful church today.As God promised that he will lead us marvelously he led us in the same way to construct this beautiful church. For the construction work all the believers of the church came forward and worked had to raise this beautiful place. For this the Lord will surely bless each of them abundently. For the past few years we have been worshiping in this beautiful church not only that but every week we conduct lot of meetings too. Every Sundays we have 3 tamil services and 1 english service. From the beginning Mission Ministry has been the heart beat of this church. God is using this church Shekinah AG as an instrument to start new churches, raise full time ministers and missionaries to serve the Lord all over India. Moreover God is also using us to purchase lands to construct churches in North India. It is not fair if we do not mention the role of our Pastor Amma. She is always being a support and she her contributions are more towards the minstry and growth of this church. She is a good support to Pastor in this ministry leading the believers towards the Lord. The believers of Shekinah AG always stand as a support for Pastor and serve as instruments for the growth of this beautiful church.
